'Arseing' is a glorious thing; i encourage it, in whatever form you choose.

Great stuff Dan. The drawings you do while messing around are better than the finished pieces most of us losers do.

I'm shocked! I had NO idea that people could color without a computer. So old school!

Brilliant stuff, Dan!

"Bestowing the gift" - man I love that. Hercules is great.

And thanks to the rest of ya - these were fun. I did another one (a Thor) but unfortunately it sucks. Ach, I might post it up anyway.

That Hercules is powerful, and the Darkseid is chilling, Dan. Beautiful stuff all around. And did you say you did a THOR?! Gotta see it.

Thanks chaps! Evan, I'm planning on scanning in the Thor tomorrow - keep yer eyes peeled.

Lord iEvil - do you mean F***** or the S**** L*****? Did you enjoy the strip?

My eyes are stinging from being peeled so long.....
THOR!!!
(Darkseid is blowing my mind)

'Congrats on the Kirby Collector appearance too!

I give thee...THE GIFT!

Isi said...

Dan - I actually meant the S**** L*****, but....

I almost bought the DWM with Hotel Historia in it. I was getting my DWA and i saw the DWM. taking a quick glance inside, i found the first page of what later turned out to be Hotel Historia. Unfortunately, the DWM was deemed too expensive, so it was never bought....

ah well. I knew who F***** was anyway...

Hi, I moderate a blog called "The Kirby Project" which is dedicated to artwork inspired by the work of Jack Kirby. I would like, with your permission, to add your Darkseid artwork to the project. I am willing to provide links to your blog and The Jersey Gods blog along with the posting.
Let me know how you feel about this request.

Hello Jason - sounds great! Do you need a higher-res version or can you crib the one from my blog?

Cheers,

Dan

Jason Garrattley said...

Thanks, Dan, the image from your blog will be fine.
I've scheduled the post for the 17th.

Hope that you got a chance to take a look at 'The Kirby Project'. Lots of great artist coming up, including Phillip Bond & Nick Derrington.

I would also like to include your Hulk & Captain America art (from March's Make Mine Marvel) as a future 'Project' posting, if that's okay with you.

Cheers,

Jason

have you heard of RLSH?

Dan McDaid said...

Jason, go for it - I'd be thrilled.

LiE - those guys are wild. My favourite is possible LIFE or DIRECTION MAN, the Human GPS. DC's GUARDIAN is a tad disappointing however - using Captain America's shield is a bit of a swizz, if you ask me.

I think I was a superhero at school. Capeman. I wore my coat around my neck and held the door open for people. I used to get beaten up A LOT.

Isi said...

LiE? is that what I'm called now?
I preferred Lordi...
heh.
nah, my favourite is Geist here:

(gauntlets! slingshot! general green cowboy-ness!)
but i know what you mean about DC's (Marvel's) Guardian...

Dan,

I love your artwork. I live in the US and picked up a Dr. Who mag which had some of your art in it. I searched the 'net and found your page. I love your style. Keep it up and I look forward to seeing more of it! Thanks.

Jason Garrattley said...

Thanks again, Dan.

I've scheduled Hulk & Cap for inclusion on the 8th of June.

To Dan and all you comic folks:
Would you be so kind as to fill out this questionnaire made by me? It is for my Graphics coursework, of which I am doing a DW graphic novel, and I need to do some market research. Since it is a graphic novel, I am asking you, the comic folks.

So if you could just fill out the form please :)
(that made me sound like an encyclopedia saleman lol :D)

I know it's been said about 10 thousand drawings by 10 thousand wannabe nerd know-it-alls but I'm gonna say it...reminds me of Jack Kirby.

The Hercules especially.
